The Dance Kraze Krew Competition Team had a busy and exciting year as they travelled around to
various competitions. This year’s team was the largest team DK has ever had with a total of 28 dancers.
The DK2 team started off the season in Richmond, VA where they competed with Dance Makers INC.
Competition. While in Richmond, they competed in a total of 20 dances. The team won multiple 2 nd and
3 rd place awards as well as high score awards, they received 3 judges awards and a Director’s Pick award.
The team collectively won the Shaffer Studio Award. The Shaffer Studio Award is awarded to the studio
that shows support, encouragement, professionalism, and shares their love of dance with others
throughout the event. A few weeks later, the team travelled to Woodbridge, VA where they competed
with Starpower Talent Competition. They once again competed with all 20 dances. While in
Woodbridge, the team won multiple 5 stars, 4 ¾ stars as well as several 1 st in categories, Judges awards,
Power Pak Invitations, 3 World Dance Championship golden tickets, Wild Dance Intensive Studio
Scholarships, 2 Battle of the Seas Scholarships for a Carnival Cruise, as well as several overall awards.
In July, the entire team will be travelling to Myrtle Beach, SC for the National Competition with
Starpower Talent Competition. The team will be performing all 20 dances at their final competition.
The Dance Kraze Krew Boosters worked hard throughout the year by hosting several fundraisers and
were able to raise enough money to pay for their 2 nd regional competition as well as pay for Nationals
this coming July. The Boosters sold candy and recital trophies to raise money. They also sold Popcorn
and Boston Butts. They held a Trunk-Or-Treat, a calendar fundraiser and three 50/50 raffles as well as
hosted Spirit Nights at Primos Mexican Restaurant. The dedication and hard work of all the dancers and
their parents have paid off!
The staff and I are so proud of the hard work and dedication from the DK2 team this year!
