Christina Collins

Christina started dancing at the age of 9 at Dance Xplosion by Michelle. She was also an active member of their competitive dance team for 5 years winning numerous overall awards, including “Highest Score for Solo/Duet/Trio” with her solo “New Romantic in 2015. In 2014 and 2016 she was also awarded the Manhattan Dance Project Scholarship award. She auditioned and received entry into the Virginia Summer Regional Governor’s School for the Performing Arts in June of 2015. She graduated from Thomas Dale High School for the Visual and Performing Arts for Dance in 2016. In those four year she was on the Dance Team, Specialty Center, and was the Vice-President of the National Dance Honor Society in 2016. She has taken classes in Hip-Hop, Tap, Jazz, Pointe, Ballet, Modern, Acro, Contemporary, and Modern while also teaching many Baby Tutu, Kinderdance, and Dance Camps classes. Christina is currently a Junior at Virginia Commonwealth University as a Dance & Choreography major. She has performed in professional works by Andre Zachery, Scott Putman, Constance Yunker, Jada Willis, Noelani Corey Jelani Taylor, and Christine Wyatt. Christina was apart of the first interdisciplinary dance project “Journeys” by Jelani Taylor and Christine Wyatt in 2017 , and is this year’s interdisciplinary dance project “Homecoming”.
