Mattie Rogers, native of Richmond, VA, began dancing at the age of three. After graduating from Thomas Dale High School's Dance Specialty Center program, where she studied under Denise Purvis, she went on to earn her BA in Dance and Arts Management from the College of Charleston. There she received training from Gretchen McLaine and was chosen to perform pieces choreographed by Tara Madsen Robbins and John Zullo. Her choreography was chosen to be adjudicated in the American College Dance Association's Southeastern conference two consecutive years. Throughout her time in Charleston she performed and trained with Kristin Alexander's Annex Dance Company. In 2016 she interned at the American Dance Festival where she trained under skilled professionals such as, Gerri Houlihan. She credits much of her training to the Stavna Ballet where she trained under Shannon McConville. Mattie recently joined Starr Foster Dance Project as a company member in June. She is excited to join the Dance Kraze family this season and share her passion for dance with her students.
