She has implemented dance programs for parks and recreations in Colonial Heights, Surry, Charles City, Smithfield, and Franklin VA. She has Choreographed for Richard Bland College, and several auxiliary squads for marching bands, and has been the owner of two dance studios. Joana has continued to learn and grow while staying abreast by taking master classes with Modern choreographers such as; Doug Verone, Mark Dendy, Meredith Monk, Garth Fagan, and many others. She has also taken classes at the Broadway Dance Center in NY. Dance may have been Joana’s first love, but she takes much pride in being a mother to her daughter and feels this is her greatest accomplishment.
